Cat portrait #1 (2025) Digital Arts by Angelica Fom
"Fine-Arts" prints on paper
It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.

Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

As an artist, I was drawn to the idea of exploring the intimate connection between humans and cats, a bond that has existed for thousands of years. Cats have long been symbols of independence, curiosity, and enigmatic beauty, and through this series, I wanted to convey their timeless allure. In creating these cat portraits, I sought to capture the essence of their spirit—their quiet contemplation, their playful mischief, their moments of deep stillness and sudden bursts of energy.
Each brushstroke in this series is a tribute to the exquisite details that make cats so captivating. The soft texture of fur, the hypnotic depth of their eyes, the elegant curvature of their bodies—all elements work together to create an immersive experience that invites the viewer into the world of these extraordinary creatures. More than just paintings, these works aim to evoke a sense of warmth, nostalgia, and iration for the feline form.
At its core, "Whiskers and Wonders" is about appreciation and connection. Whether through the knowing look of a housecat or the regal stance of a stray, these cat portraits remind us of the beauty found in everyday moments. This series is a celebration of both the tangible and the unseen—the way a cat's presence can bring comfort, the way their gaze can seem to hold infinite wisdom, and the way their spirit lingers long after they’ve gone.
Through this collection, I invite viewers to pause and reflect, to see the world through the eyes of a cat, and to embrace the small wonders that exist in their everyday lives.

For me, art is always an open door for a dialogue with a viewer. Moreover, it's an invitation to a creative act because I believe an interpretation of an artwork is as important as its creation. What at first glance seems to be just an abstraction then begins to evoke certain feelings, emotions, and associations. I create lines and color transitions in at attempt to pull viewers in like a whirlwind. So, finally, each viewer has a personal interpretation of an abstraction that differs from others.
The quick-drying process is important to express a creative impulse fully, so I choose acrylic paints. I often combine delicate light "watercolor" shades with dark ones. These contrasting colors in my works render the polyphony of every aspect of life. After all, there is no absolute light, no absolute darkness. In our life, everything is mixed up to one degree or another.
