It is a process of printing on art paper using very high-quality pigment inks and printed in very high definition. Its level of conservation is exceptional (more than 100 years), its quality, depth, and richness of nuances exceeds the classic photo print on Argentic paper.
Glossy finish
Apart from its exceptional thickness, the fiber paper is composed of an alpha-cellulose base without acid and it is covered with barium sulphate, and a microporous layer absorption enhancing pigments during printing. A pure white color, non-yellowing to light, this paper is especially designed for resistance and aging. It is used by major museums worldwide as it offers excellent resolution, rendering deep and dense colors.

Brian Kelly wurde 1946 in Johnstone, Schottland geboren. 1977 beendete er erfolgreich sein Studium an der Glasgow School Of Art, erhielt anschließend Stipendien der Haldane-Stiftung, des Scottish Arts Council, des British Council und der Hope Scott Stiftung. Bis 1988 arbeitete er als Lehrer für Lithographie in Glasgow, als Lehrer für Zeichentechnik in London und als Lehrer für Siebdrucktechnik in Glasgow. Seit 1988 lebt und arbeitet Brian Kelly in Berlin.
Brian Kelly ist ein äußerst kraftvoller und dynamischer Maler, der Farbigkeit nicht scheut, es jedoch stets zu vermeiden versteht, in eine bunte Belanglosigkeit abzurutschen. Seine abstrakten Figuren, die er in spannungsgeladene Farbfelder stellt, sind formal ausgereift und handwerklich sauber konstruiert. Seine Leinwandgemälde – die oftmals sehr großformatig ausfallen – überzeugen durch eine unverwechselbare Bildsprache. Brian Kelly erzählt dem Betrachter in seinen Werken so gut wie immer kleine poetische Geschichten. Auch in seiner 1993 geschaffenen Serigraphie-Serie „The Tales“ werden die außerordentlichen Fähigkeiten Brian Kellys als bildnerischer Fabulierer deutlich. Diese Serie von drei Arbeiten im Format von jeweils 70 x 100 cm – in einer äußerst kleinen Auflage von 21, 23 bzw. 25 Exemplaren pro Motiv geschaffen – besticht durch eine sehr prägnante Farbgebung in Kombination mit graphischen Versatzstücken. Jedes einzelne Motiv erzählt eine kleine Geschichte, die im Kopf des Betrachters entsteht. Die einzelnen Titel sind „The Mask-Maker’s Tale“, „The Astronomer’s Tale“ und „The Mariner’s Tale“.
Christiane Böhling schrieb hierzu sehr treffend: „Ob zum Tango um Mitternacht, zum Maskenball oder zur Besteigung der Himmelsleiter, es kann wohl keinem von uns schaden, uns auf eine Reise mit Kellys Traumschiff zu begeben.“
Brian Kelly verstarb im Jahr 2002.
