Dominique Comolet (whose pseudonym is DAD, initials of the birth name Dominique Aline Danet) was born in 1953 in Paris. She lives alternately in the mountains, in the Alps and in Finistère, near the Arrée mountains. These two places of life and work, both similar in their isolation and their immersion in nature but also very different in of climate and landscapes, are in turn suitable for renewing and intensifying inspiration and creativity.

Very attracted to classical music, she began by studying the organ at the Schola Cantorum in Paris as well as musicology and art history at the Sorbonne. However, city life and the pressure of a musical career were not favorable to her and in 1976, she chose to leave the Paris region to settle in Haute Savoie. It was at this pivotal moment that she discovered drawing, painting, engraving and photography. Attending a few artists' studios and the contemporary engraving center in Geneva bring their impetus and diversity to a training that is a little late but has become essential.

The imprint of time ed, the evanescence of beauty and life, the infinite textures offered by nature and the colorful vibrations of light are the recurring themes of a work which, for 30 years, has been built like a musical improvisation, one note after another, chord after chord, movement after movement.
