Every string removed is a life saved.
In cities around the world, pigeons silently suffer from a preventable but painful condition: stringfoot. Loose threads, human hair, and debris get wrapped tightly around their toes, cutting off circulation, causing severe injury, and often leading to infection or loss of limbs.
But help exists, and you can be part of it.
Across the globe, dedicated pigeon rescuers and volunteers are making a difference.
From New York to Paris, from London to São Paulo, people are going out into cities to gently detangle, treat, and release pigeons suffering from stringfoot. Many of these rescuers belong to organizations that specialize in urban pigeon welfare. Some groups even offer hands-on training, free online classes, and guidance for anyone who wants to learn how to help.
These small acts of care ripple outward.
Each freed foot means less suffering, a stronger flock, and a more comionate city.
Pigeons are part of our urban ecosystems, resilient, intelligent, and misunderstood. Helping them isn’t just about saving individual birds. It’s about building a city where comion and coexistence lead the way.
See them. Help them. Heal them.
Remove the string. the movement. Share the knowledge.
Let’s protect life while managing the flock.
destringing pigeons feet, because every city bird deserves comion
