About the author 5b2w7
Caroline Lochon is a contemporary French painter with a deep ion for art, particularly trompe-l'oeil, surrealism, and symbolism. Her artistic journey began at a young age, although her career path was initially quite atypical, far from the art world. She spent 10 years working as a Peugeot agent and then 8 years managing a bar tabac.
A period of significant change and renewal marked her life when she made the bold decision to leave her marriage, her home, and her old job. In 2016, she committed herself to pursuing her ion for painting, enrolling in a trompe-l'oeil training program at the prestigious Ecole Jean Sablé in Versailles. After completing her studies and earning her diploma, she dedicated herself fully to her art.
Caroline opened a showroom in partnership, specializing in decorative painting and interior design, which she ran for three and a half years. In 2019, she was awarded the title of Artisan d'Art. Her career has flourished since, with numerous exhibitions in the region and projects involving professionals, individuals, local authorities, and private castles. She has created Renaissance-style wall decorations in historically rich spaces, including large-scale pieces, as well as more contemporary works.
Her creativity also extends to easel paintings, which reflect her expertise and serve as a platform for deep artistic and symbolic exploration. Caroline’s work is predominantly acrylic-based, blending trompe-l'oeil with surrealist symbolism. Through her paintings, she transforms reality, adapting it to her imagination and conveying personal messages and stories.
Surrealism plays a central role in her art, where she uses paradox and contradiction to disrupt reality, both through color and composition. Caroline’s goal is to evoke a reaction from the viewer, sparking wonder and leaving an unconscious message. She embraces the world of illusion, inviting others to her in this magnificent journey of visual exploration.
