Gérard Raucoules is a contemporary French sculptor with a self-taught and unconventional career. After initially pursuing sculpture in the 1990s, he shifted his focus to a successful career in advertising and animated cinema, working as a 3D modeler, animator, and director of animation studios in both and Spain. He also served as a training director at a prestigious art school specializing in 3D animation and special effects.
Despite his career in digital arts, Gérard's ion for volume and modeling never waned. Today, he has returned to sculpture, focusing on terracotta and bronze. His works are characterized by their search for aesthetics, shapes, and curves, often evoking the elegance of Art Deco and Art Nouveau, yet infused with a modern touch. Influenced by science fiction, comics, architecture, and his experience in animation, his sculptures create a unique universe. Often inspired by an imagined mythology, his goddesses and figures evoke stability, introspection, and deep emotion, offering a sense of timelessness and beauty.
