Hanneke Pereboom is a contemporary Dutch artist who has been exhibiting and selling her work both in the Netherlands and internationally since 1996. Initially trained as a sculptress, Pereboom felt limited by the absence of color in her sculptures and decided to expand her artistic expression. As a self-taught artist, she has mastered a variety of techniques and materials, resulting in a diverse body of work that includes both paintings and glass art.
Pereboom resides and works in her own studio in Oudehorne, the Netherlands, where she also offers workshops and classes. Her early sculptural works were grounded in realistic forms, but over time, she has embraced more abstract styles. Her sculptures are known for their emphasis on round shapes, interspersed with abstract elements, which create a functional simplicity in her designs.
In addition to her artistic practice, Pereboom has authored the book "Images in Stone," published by Forte in 2005, and has been teaching modeling and sculpture since 1982. She has also undertaken artist residencies in Zimbabwe and Spain, further enriching her artistic journey.
