This is a beautifully decorative artwork in oil pastel featuring whimsical flowers in two vases and a watering can in a role of a vase. The painting has rich layers of pastel and expressive mark-making, as well as a good mix of bold colours with neon sparks here and there. It is done on a special acid-free 360g/m2 oil pastel paper and is 40x30 cm in size.

The idea of the artwork came as a result of an experiment and the whole process was more of a play, filled with excitement of discovering a new technique for myself. And the painting conveys this happy and playful mood. I believe it is made to spread good vibes and can provide hours of mindful observation of various marks and lines and patterns in it.

The painting would make a perfect gift for a Mother’s Day too.

The artwork is sealed with special oil pastel varnish for extra protection and colour vibrancy preservation. But a glass/acrylic glass frame is advised to keep the painting safe. Framing with a cut-out mat to individual preferences is possible upon request. Please, me about that. Also via IG.

Julia Suptel was born in Ukraine in 1987 and now lives and works in Dresden, . She has many interests, one of the main ones being psychology and (art) therapy where she moves intuitively, inventing her own coping techniques and processes. She is a keen yoga practioner and seeker, a certain thoughtfulness is present in most of her artworks. Julia works mainly with soft and oil pastel and her works feature scenes from everyday life, landscapes and floral arrangements.

She is a self-taught artist with a background in Cultural Management from the University of Amsterdam and BA in Domestic Design from School of Form in Poznan, Poland. Her works are in private collections in , Ukraine, Russia, Italy, , Ireland, Poland and the USA.

Julia says about her work: „I let my curiosity and colour inspiration drive my work, not knowing often where the next experiment might take me. I explore different styles but naive art and Impressionism, as well as fauvism and mystical realism are the ones that resonate the most”.

“If you work with your hands, you're a laborer. If you work with your hands and your mind, you're a craftsman. If you work with your hands and your mind and your heart, you're an artist.” - st. Francis of Assisi
