Marcel Dorthe, in parallel with his profession as a farmer, has always devoted himself to his pictorial vocation which was born one dazzling day, in a field, watching an artist paint. His work on the earth brought him into daily with the beauty of Creation. His encounter with nature made him discover all the poetry of the world in quintessence.
The art of Marcel Dorthe could not have blossomed without the discovery of an extraordinary artistic medium, pastel. The colors of the surfaces change according to the surrounding shades, and the gradients allow these transitions of luminosity. The artist integrates stones, earth and gold leaf into his creation. Mixed with the colored shadows, farms and trees take shape, resembling, through their incandescence, stained glass windows.
