I want to talk about the soul. About what many do not realize, others consider part of the mind. Who am I? Am I a Body? The mind? Or a Soul? I perceive myself as a mind that has a body and a soul, and I want to see the souls of others.
For me, it is a separate, independent "substance" that lives and feels according to its own laws, has its own desires and, sometimes, commands thoughts and movements.
And, like everything in the material world, the spirit has its own form.
The 3 components of personality - soul, mind and body - are fused together in us, and our most tangible "part" - the body - gives shape to the soul.
I want to talk about the soul and portray the soul. To catch her in a solid material, to study her from all sides, to give her an ephemeral form, to show her "without" a body, naked and clean, not having a clear idea of herself, but alive and real.

Margarita Simonova is a contemporary Russian artist and sculptor whose work bridges academic realism and impressionism. Born out of a deep devotion to nature, her art captures fleeting moods and moments, blending precision with emotional depth. Margarita's formal education began at the MGAKHU Academic College in memory of 1905, where she graduated with honors from the Faculty of Sculpture in 2019. She continued her studies at the prestigious Academic University of MGAKHI Surikov, further honing her skills in sculpture.
Though trained as an academic sculptor, Margarita is equally proficient in drawing and painting, a combination that allows her to see and depict the world from a unique perspective. Her artistic process is rooted in working directly from nature, whether it’s capturing the running clouds in the North of Russia, portraying playful pets, or depicting urban landscapes and sunsets.
Margarita frequently embarks on trips with her paints and sketchbook, visiting remote corners of Russia and beyond, always drawing inspiration from her surroundings. She strives for an authentic, "live" perception in her work, immersing herself fully in the scenes she sculpts or paints, relying on her senses, mind, and soul. From these live sketches, Margarita creates large paintings and sculptures that resonate with a deep sense of connection to the world around her.
