Mélanie Bourget is a French sculptor born in 1973.

Mélanie Bourget takes the human being as the main motif in her sculptures. Her work, in raku, is based on a very old Japanese technique to which Mélanie manages to add a very contemporary, even quirky aspect, at the crossroads of realism and humor.

In his sculptures the image of the woman is most often taken up, serious or mysterious. Mélanie Bourget's bust portraits always show women with alluring hairstyles, smiling or in the middle of a discussion with colleagues or the viewer, but always with an obvious touch of humor.

All of Mélanie Bourget's works are thus made with ceramics, the Raku technique gives them this cracked appearance, which shows all the fragility of being.
