Im Rahmen des Projekts «Bildsprache» der dritten Grafik-Fachklasse beschäftigte sich der utan mit dem Thema Aufmerksamkeit.

Mit Panzer- und Warnband hat der utan während zwölf Wochen sechzehn grossformatige Bilder geklebt. Dabei hat er sich so auffällig wie möglich verhalten, inkl. Arbeitskleidung «gilet orange». Dies war Teil des Projekts und diente der Untersuchung von Aufmerksamkeits- und Legitimierungs- Mechanismen sowohl in der Öffentlichkeit als auch im Ausstellungsraum.

Die in dieser Zeit entstandenen Bilder schreien nach Aufmerksamkeit. Sie verführen. Sie wollen etwas von dir. Sie sind laut. Und auffällig. Das ist alles was sie können. Sie haben weder Inhalt noch haben sie etwas Substanzielles auszusagen. Sie sind eine Täuschung, eine leere Fassade.
Vieles funktioniert nach demselben Prinzip: Wer auffällt, gewinnt. Dabei wird die Hemmschwelle kontinuierlich nach oben gedrückt. Wir sind abgestumpft und brauchen immer mehr Überzeugungskraft für unsere Aufmerksamkeit. Sie ist zur neuen Währung des modernen Zeitalters geworden.

«HIER GIBT ES NICHTS ZU SEHEN» ist eine Warnung und ein Aufruf zur Selbstreflexion; Wer oder was hat unsere Aufmerksamkeit verdient?
Sind wir alle bloss Schaulustige? Wo gibt es wirklich etwas zu sehen? Hier jedenfalls nicht.
