Michel Neuville is a contemporary French sculptor who has lived in Corrèze since childhood. He previously worked as a hand molder at the Ussel Aluminum Foundries. Now retired, Michel dedicates himself fully to his ion for sculpture, working regularly in his studio and participating in numerous exhibitions.
Michel is particularly drawn to old stumps with unusual shapes, which spark his imagination. He began by carving roots and other wood, inspired by these naturally singular forms. His initial approach to wood sculpture was realistic, but it gradually evolved towards abstraction.
Additionally fascinated by bronze work, Michel trained in lost wax casting through an art foundry internship. He now creates sculptures in both bronze and tin. Regardless of the medium, Michel's sculptures begin with a representation of reality but then transition into more abstract forms as he explores his imagination and creative vision.
