- I've always been fascinated with water and loved observing how things look underwater, how water distort shapes, creates patterns. Water is especially calm and clear in the mornings and you can clearly see every pebble. Gentle breeze creates small ripples making the water sparkle. In the shallows sun creates beautiful patterns on pebbles adding warm yellow highlights to blues and greens.
- My process: I practice traditional technique of painting in thin layers, starting with a tonal underpainting, taking my time with each piece and enjoying the creative process. My artwork has very little texture.
After the painting is finished and cured for 2-4 weeks, then the protective varnish coat goes on, I usually use Dammar varnish that give it a glossy finish. I believe that Dammar makes oil paint appear more lustrous.
