Jusqu’au printemps 2007, Olivier Hache a eu recours à une technique reposant sur le traitement d’images associées librement et intégrées dans la toile grâce à de la peinture acrylique et, le cas échéant, de l’huile.
Son travail consiste alors à mettre en scène un « prélèvement archéologique » de l’Histoire, de l’histoire de l’art ou de mon histoire personnelle.
La toile est traitée par couches de peintures, de matières, de tissus, de collages successifs évoquant des sédimentations, la sédimentation de ces histoires.
Les éléments figurant sur ces toiles sont prélevés du quotidien : des papiers, des tissus, des matières diverses… de la peinture. Le liant acrylique permet cette sédimentation. Le châssis quant à lui, figure la délimitation de l’échantillon prélevé.
