Patrice Bongrand is a sculptor and ceramic artist. Thanks to the diligent practice of his great ion, bonsai, which he has been practicing for more than twenty-five years, he met Japanese masters who introduced him to the traditional arts of Japan.

For his creations, he draws inspiration from the great Japanese painters (Hokusaï and Hiroshige), the impressionists (Monet, Van Gogh, Cézanne), but he also and above all draws his inspiration from traditional Japanese arts and the beauties of nature.

Two techniques from the tradition of Japanese ceramists:

- Medium temperature raku (between 1100°c and 1000°c) to create sculptures and paintings.

- Stoneware fired in anagama wood kiln at 1320]c (firing 25 to 30 hours) for sculptures, tea bowls (chawan).
