Patrice Preveirault, artist born on November 9, 1956 in Lyon, has always been driven by a ion for drawing and painting from an early age. His artistic career is marked by a constant search for harmony between the subjects he represents, whether figurative or abstract, and the rectilinear and curved geometric shapes that surround them. This artistic fusion has become his true “trademark”.
Although Patrice has developed his own artistic signature, he does not hesitate to explore figurative and surrealist painting from time to time, testifying to his infinite creativity and his desire to renew himself.
His first steps in art saw him working with Indian ink and watercolor, but over the years he developed a marked preference for oil painting on medium or large format canvases. , gouache and dry pastel. Drawing also occupies a central place in his creative process, with most of his paintings being the subject of several successive sketches.
Creativity, technique and precision are fundamental values for Patrice. He finds interest in all genres of painting, as long as they embody these values.
Unfortunately, a significant part of his artistic production from the years 1977-1978 and 1985-1995 has not been preserved in photographs or originals. Nevertheless, Patrice strives to comment on most of his works to facilitate understanding of his work and help the public understand the inspirations and motivations that led to their creation.
