In this Prussian blue monotype, the solitary cormorant soars through the immensity. A silent navigation, a quest where sea and sky unite under a single, almost unreal color, carried by the quiet strength of a bird which, like the ship, knows that it is in the silence of the waves that it finds its balance.

Avec mes pinceaux, couteaux et spatules, peignant en musique, je créé des œuvres vibrantes et dynamiques par des techniques d’expérimentation picturales mettant en lumière mes émotions et mes vibrations intimes. Pour cela, le monotype est mon medium préféré, car ce procédé me permet de dessiner en "négatif", toujours dans le mouvement et la légèreté, enlevant de la peinture pour former mes motifs, à l'inverse du procédé traditionnel donc. Cependant je rehausse ensuite mes monotypes sur le papier au pinceau en appliquant la même peinture, mais cette fois-ci en "positif", accentuant les reliefs et donnant de la profondeur, non plus par la lumière, mais par les ombres.
Le monotype est un procédé d'impression sans gravure qui produit un tirage unique. Je peins à la peinture à l’huile ou à l'encre grasse, sur des plaques souples ou plus rigides. J'applique ensuite doucement une feuille de papier Whenzou et je presse la feuille sur le avec mes mains, appuyant plus ou moins pour donner l'effet souhaité.
Le monotype n'est pas une « gravure » au sens strict, mais une estampe (œuvre obtenue après un pressage manuel ou mécanique). Par abus de langage, le terme « gravure » est devenu un terme générique pour ce type d'œuvres, quelle que soit la technique utilisée. Les monotypes sont des œuvres uniques, comme leur nom l'indique. Edgar Degas a pratiqué le monotype de façon magistrale. D’autres artistes connus ont utilisé la technique du monotype dont Rembrandt van Rijn, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissaro, Paul Klee, Paul Gauguin, et Toulouse Lautrec.
