I made this work after a few days camping with my friends in the forest near a beautiful lake. I took the photo witch inspired the painting.
The foreground depicts a scene that take place during our camping trip into the wilderness: two tents and a group of three people engaged in different activities. One character is filming something, the other is comfortably seated in a camping chair close to the fishing tools, and the third one is doing some chores and pays no attention to the other characters or the fireworks that rise into the sky. The middle ground features a landscape with a water surface and mountains—an ordinary earthly scene. It’s not immediately noticeable that in the meticulously detailed sky, one of the blue stars is labelled as the Earth. And if the Earth is visible in the sky, where is this action taking place?
