I am a French sculptor of Serbian origin. I have been sculpting stone for 35 years: marble, alabaster, schist... My sculptures can be figurative or abstract. I work directly, without preparation, without clay models or other materials. This way of working allows me to create spontaneous sculptures. It is spontaneity and unpredictability that are found in a work. I believe that the stone is asleep and waiting to be awakened. A small piece of stone will become an idea, an emotion, an illusion with the pretension that I imagine myself master of this transformation. The stone undergoes all the violence of a chisel, a hammer, to be finally polished, caressed, and kissed. I have also been drawing for a long time. My drawings often feature nudes. They are made from live models. I discover the lines of a body and I try to draw it with simple and dynamic lines. Each body position leads to finding its line and the perfect gesture.
