Photographed on film, scanned and printed on Fine Art Archival paper Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308

The analog photography series "Blindfolded" is a continuation of the cycle started in the "covid" series "On the black wall". It continues to develop the theme of constant dialogue with oneself and time. This time, connections of different dimensions are being sought, as if trying to answer a constantly tormenting question in the face of ever-increasing conflict in the world.

Experimenting with the possibilities of double exposure against a black-painted wall, “living” and “non-living”, static and dynamic objects are combined in one frame of film, sizes are changed, colors are “overlaid”. You observe how objects “find” each other and for a moment gain realization.

The black background of the wall is here as a symbol of blinding darkness, a labyrinth in which you try to find landmarks of light. Color, as one of the most beautiful properties of light, is not only an aesthetic segment of the image, but also one of the most important means of expression.

A person participating in photo still lifes seems to be in a space of associations and imagination with phantasmagoric and surreal images. Sometimes it is the main character, sometimes it is a part of an object, and sometimes it is just a color spot. The tangled routes of imagination are full of surprises, and the constantly appearing obstacles of compositional decisions encourage new reflections and hidden possibilities to unfold.

Tania Serket is a professional photographer. She started working as an art editor in a publishing house, and later as a photographer for interior design magazines.

Mainly all her images are made in enclosed space using black painted walls whilst experimenting with long shutter speed. The shapes created by movement live and die together. Movement compositions created on the wall mirror an effect similar to hypnosis. Light is also playing an important part, constantly reminding its importance in transformation in movement.

Tania Serke is a Lithuanian photographer living in Vilnius. She has studied music and painting at the Lithuanian Academies and has managed to release several authorial photo albums, including "Interiors in Lithuania", "Life inside the country" and most recently: "Frozen music. National Opera and Ballet Theatre in Vilnius".
She regularly participates in group and personal exhibitions in Lithuania. My works have also been exhibited in galleries in the United States and .
