Del cincel a la piedra, de la piedra a un corazón que rueda despeñándose hasta lograr la forma deseada.
Martillo en mano, puntería que esculpe venas y nervios inertes, pero que recobran vida cuando el certero y ágil sueño se materializa.
Así es la obra del maestro Teófilo Reyes, así nos demuestra la terquedad de hacer rodar las piedras desde el lugar donde las mira hasta donde el sentimiento las coloca para dejar constancia de lo que quedará después de nosotros mismos.
Teófilo Reyes siendo un artista autodidacta es heredero de expandir la cultura a través del arte, nace en Xuchitl Veracruz México en 1961, En ciudad Mendoza Veracruz decide radicar y echar raices hasta nuestros días, teniendo 30 años de escultor, aunque desde niño tiene la inquietud de plasmar la expresión del rostro en la piedra.
En 1993 comienza a participar en infinidad de exposiciones individuales y colectivas entre las cuales destacan recientemente la galería de Arte Casa Consistorial en el pueblo Magico de Orizaba, al igual inauguró la calle del Arte en los 400 años de la ciudad de Córdoba, y actualmente se encuentra en exposición en la Universidad Veracruzana cede en Usbi Ixtaczoquitlan, Veracruz, México. Algunas de sus obras pueden encontrarse expuestas en instituciones y colecciones privadas en México y el extranjero.
Sus obras artísticas conllevan expresiones naturales en las que modifica la realidad visual y llega a la distorsión, es un estilo individual intenso, llegando a la excentricidad, escudriña su propia alma, su mundo interior, las expresiones del artista son una revelación personal, su obra transmite madurez, profundidad y complejidad, todo es real y semireal y sobre todo responde a una forma subjetiva de captar y recrear el mundo,el modo de ser de ver y de esculpir.
