Ich arbeite in Serien, die sich an den Motiven meiner künstlerischen Vorbilder wie beispielsweise Sandro Botticelli, oder Studienblätter von Leonardo da Vinci orientieren. Vergilbungen, Risse und Verletzungen verstärken als Spuren der Vergangenheit den visuellen Reiz. Diese Ästhetik versuche ich durch Überzeichnen, Übermalen, Collagieren einzufangen. Related themes
The central theme in Ute Rathmann's artistic oeuvre is the clothed, sometimes even costumed human body. She uses the wide range of possibilities offered by drawing and employs a variety of stylistic devices such as allusions, exaggerations, alienations or reductions.
